Natural Gas Fracking

Have you or your property been affected by natural gas fracking?

Noise and Air Pollution

Noise Pollution

One concern for families living near gas wells is the extreme amount of noise pollution that these operations create. Drilling and fracking are 24 hour-a-day operations, and many people have reported very high noise levels, even inside their homes. In addition to the drilling and fracking equipment, the constant stream of trucks going into and out of the gas wells can create serious noise problems.

Some Arkansas residents many find themselves living near a compressor station, which can become an additional source of noise pollution. These compressor stations operate around the clock and can even be heard several miles away. The noise they create is not only a nuisance, it can create unlivable conditions for residents in the area.

Air Pollution

Air pollution is a serious concern for residents of areas in which fracking takes place. Some of these residents have reported distinct chemical smells around their homes, and have reported fumes coming off of condensate tanks. In addition to air pollution that could be created by the fracking operations themselves, pollution from the trucks and heavy equipment used on and in the vicinity of gas wells also pose a threat of creating unnecessary air pollution.
